A nominated candidate for the UNESCO cultural heritage site, the highland region has received praise from all corners of the earth as a tourist destination of choice. The rice terraces lie at the foot of Mount Batukaru on an expansive 600 hectares of land.

The terraces make for a beautiful photo, so many visitors simply come here to photograph this beautiful landscape. But visitors can also sample some of the other attractions located nearby. Jatiluwih Green Land pays homage to the Batukaru temple, an ancient structure which pays homage to Indonesia’s past and there is also the Alas Kedaton Monkey forest located nearby.

The road to Jatiluwih is bordered by several restaurants which offer a variety of dishes. One such restaurant is the well-known Billy’s Terrace Cafe. A small fee of 40,000 IDR is required to enter the rice paddy fields so come along with a bike or scooter to experience nature’s beauty.
