Bunut Bolong is a sacred tree on the roadside leading up to Buleleng in Medewi and is a unique tourist attraction in the area.
The name of the tree is attributed to its unique characteristic: ‘bunut’ is a local word that translates to trees that belong to the fig species while ‘bolong’ is the local word for hole. Visitors are often interested to see this unique tree, thanks to the giant hole that it has at the bottom.

In addition, Bunut Bolong is located on the brow of a hill with spectacular views. One side is home to a great clove plantation while the other is a verdant jungle teeming with diverse flora and fauna.

Also, make sure to check out the small temple located near Bunut Bolong. Different rituals are held at the temple at different times, so check with the locals. Driving uphill, visitors will sometimes encounter fog, so it is important to be careful to ensure a safe trip.
